Seventeen, son of Captain Hook, and student at the School For Good And Evil.
Although I'm familiar with the books, I'm basing my characterization off of the Netflix movie version of Hort. He’s a different animal (literally), with a different backstory. Hort comes from a world where fairytales are all true, and everyone is also aware that there is another world where they are all just stories to people. He’s a tall, skinny, pale young man, with ink black hair and all of the guy liner. He wears black, because that’s what villains do, but he likes lace and tulle and wears a ring on every finger he possibly can. He always wears a kilt. He is a kilt guy. He doesn’t always see the point in shirts. His manners are nearly nonexistent, but he is a pirate, after all. Despite the gothic uniform and the fact that he’s being trained to be a bad guy, Hort is generally pretty cheerful. He’s goofy, flamboyant, and slightly over enthusiastic at times. He idolizes his father, but it’s an emotionally distant relationship, for multiple reasons. Hook is…Hook, and he has his own thing going on; not much time to be a single dad. Hort is also a painful reminder of who his mother is. Spoilers: it’s Wendy Darling. Hort does not, and should probably never know this.
Hort has been chosen to attend the School For Good And Evil (he’s in Evil), where the future heroes and villains of stories go to learn how to do…that. Hort puts on a good show of declaring the good guys (Evers) dumb, and losers, but he’s privately envious of them and how beloved they are. He’s a romantic at heart, and that’s something villains (Nevers) aren’t supposed to be.
He can also turn into a werewolf. Sort of.
